Having recently returned from a long lay-off, I am back playing and coaching. But my swing has been wonky for the past few months and although I 'thought' I knew what was wrong I was unable to find the means to correct it. Having tried a number a 'new routines' to find my groove the Gruva proved a God-send.
My focus of attention was at the top of my backswing, and trying to get on an inside plane coming down. However, the Gruva immediately corrected my takeaway, which then set me right at the top and then the downswing was perfect and easy to get on the right plane and away from the 'over the top' problem. Quite amazing because I never realized the problem was there, in my backswing. The initial takeaway was good and straight but then I'd snatch the club onto the inside too soon. The Gruva forced my arms wider and fuller, further back along the target line before hinging and getting the club up with a full shoulder turn.
It is going to take many more hours to get it right, but I now know the feeling!! That makes a huge difference, when you know how it should feel to be in the right place on the right plane.
